Steve Kaufman (1960–2010) apprenticed as Andy Warhol's assistant at the Factory before developing his own hand-embellished screenprint style — pop icons, portraits and Americana painted over silkscreen in thick, individual color. Each work is effectively unique, and his Factory lineage keeps his market active among Warhol collectors.
